BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Are you looking for that special volunteer opportunity? A place where your experiences will enrich your life and provide a great deal of personal satisfaction? Then, the Loren Andrus Octagon House is for you! As a volunteer-based organization, The Friends of the Octagon House, rely solely on the generosity and dedication of their volunteers to accomplish the day-to-day operations of the facility. 

If you’re a person that enjoys working with people, has dedication and is reliable, we’d love for you to join our wonderful group of volunteers. From daily tasks to special events, volunteers serve on a daily, weekly, monthly or as-needed basis. No matter what amount of time you have to give, we have a place for you! Please see our brief list of volunteer areas below, however, if you don’t see one that fits, let us know what you’d be interested in helping with. Perhaps you have special knowledge, a talent or a hobby that could be put to excellent use for the house.

To insure your success, we will provide you with a basic orientation to acquaint you with the house, its history and any other information you’ll need to have rewarding volunteer experiences at the Loren Andrus Octagon House. 

Additionally, we have something brand new for our volunteers! So that we can demonstrate our appreciation for your dedication and volunteerism, we’ve started a recognition program called Seasonal Star Volunteer. Those selected will have their photo and a short biography placed in a special frame (during their quarter) that will be displayed in the house and we will also feature the same information on our website. We are very excited to offer this and look forward to celebrating your success here at the Loren Andrus Octagon House. Our volunteers will also continue to receive two complimentary tickets to our festive Holiday Soiree that takes place each November.
